"Maya, get my phone," Emmagia asked her assistant.

"Which phone, ma'am?"

"The one I hid in the black folder."

Emmagia still looked fragile. Her face was deathly pale, and she felt discomfort in her chest. But there were things she couldn't leave unfinished. If she suddenly died, everything she'd been fighting for couldn't end in vain.

Her beloved son would always be with her through thick and thin.

Maya handed her the black silicon-covered cell phone. "Thank you."

Emmagia opened several files and incoming emails. She was certain the private detective she'd hired had gotten accurate results about what she'd suspected.

"Maya, can you step out for a moment?" she asked.

"No problem, ma'am." The young woman left the room.

Emmagia dialed Alfonzo's number.

"Hello, Alfonzo."

"Mrs. Mendoza, I've got all the evidence on your daughter-in-law's lover."

"Good. Send it to me now."
