“By the way,” Milo began, “the doctor says you need to start some kind of exercise to help with the asthma. Niko’s been doing great with swimming, and we’ve got a huge indoor pool here. Consider yourself invited,” he smiled, but Anja’s expression told him she felt more uninvited. Very uninvited.

“Swimming isn’t really my thing…”

“No way! You don’t know how to swim!” he realized, watching her pout like a little kid.

“So what? Not everyone knows how to swim. Plus, I’m perfectly happy sitting on the edge,” she retorted. “I’m a shore girl.”
