Capítulo 6

JOE BANDIT POV.

When lunchtime finally arrived, John, Gio and I left school and headed to Taco Bell. We did it all the time and since we were now in the last year, it was okay for us to leave campus. When we got to Taco Bell, we all ordered our food. When it was finally ready, we took our food and chose a table to sit on. We all started eating the tacos with enthusiasm, hungry for that delicious wrapped meat.

After I bit my taco, I saw Gio and John staring at each other. John whispered something to Gio, making him frown and deny with his head. Then they both looked at me in observance. Like they're looking for the answer to a question they wanted to ask. I ignored them and kept eating my food. When I could still feel their eagle eyes staring at me, I sided and gave up, allowing them to ask me what I know they anxiously want to know.

"What?" I said in an expressionless voice, knowing full well that it was Chasity.

"Don't act like you don't know why we're looking at you," John said with a smile.

Gio took a sip of his drink and also smiled, anticipating him to answer the question they were both about to ask. I wiped my mouth with a napkin and lay down in my seat, at the same time as my two meddling friends leaned forward.

"Why were you talking to Dawson?" John asked, as he moved his eyebrows.

Gio laughed in disguise"Is there love blooming in the air my friend?"

John laughed and added, "Is it already 'wife season'?"

"What is the season of wives?" Gio asked, getting a little distracted.

It was moments like this that reminded me that Gio is not from the United States. It was always fun every time it was mistaken for a jargon or phrase we would say.

"It's like a phrase that means people start becoming couples," John explained.

"Ahh, " said Gio, making a sympathetic move with a head movement.

He quickly replied with a lie "I wanted to ask you if the O REO guy does, do you like it?"

"Are you serious?" asked Gio, without believing my answer to John's question.

I nodded, trying to quickly back up my lie. " Very much. There are not many types of O REO and although the original is my favorite, it's not the only one that's the best."

John and Gio looked at me with an expression that showed XX and Y clearly didn't believe me. I had my taco again before my food got cold.

"I don't think you're serious, " said Gio before taking a sip of his drink.

I shone with my head, then I replied "I'm very serious," while my right little finger hit the table.

John reclined against his chair and crossed his arms. Then he looked at me with fun, as he searched me with his eyes up and down, as if the truth was written on my face "Did you know you're a bad liar?"

I mocked inside; I'm not a bad liar.

"I'm not a liar, and I'm not a bad liar," I replied. Then I got up to go throw away my garbage.

John widened his eyebrows and then scanned me with his eyes when I returned to the table "Truth always comes to light, Bandit."

Then I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. Seeing that it was time for us to leave. I got up and grabbed my purse.

"It's time to go back, " I said, changing the subject.

Gio laughed and joked in a singing tone "You're changing the subject of my friend."

I set my eyes blank and walked out the door ignoring his protests to leave.

"How do you know he's lying?" Gio muttered to John.

If I was trying to be discreet, my foreign friend was doing a horrible job.

"When he's lying down, all his fingers remain still except the right little finger. He'll always tap against something, " said John with a smile.

I made fun of you inside, I guess I'm a bad liar.
