That night, after dinner, Britney pulled Elvin along to the garden to play with sparklers.
The adults were worried about the children playing with fire, so they went along. They stood under the patio, watching them play.
The sparklers twinkled brightly against the dark of the night.
Soon after, Jade joined the children. Yvonne suddenly had the urge to join in the fun as well. She pulled Stpehen's hand. "Let's go. We'll go and play with the big guys."
Before Stephen could react, Yvonne had already pulled him along to an empty spot of land. The big guys she had been talking about were fireworks. Those were indeed not child-friendly.
She handed Stephen a lighter. "You do it."
Stephen looked at the lighter and teased, "Ms. Y, you dare to open fire, yet you don't dare to light fireworks?"
"How is it the same time?" Yvonne looked a little troubled.
"I've touched a gun since I was young, but I rarely played with fireworks. This thing looks much harder to control than a gun."
