"There's no need." Curtis had just woken up. His reflexes were extremely slow, but he wanted to make Gwen stay.
He hooked his pinky finger around Gwen's fingers. He asked, "How long was I asleep?"
"Almost half a month." Gwen returned to the side of the bed. She gently placed Curtis' hand down.
"You're finally up."
Curtis mumbled to himself, "Half a month …" He looked out of the window at the night sky sadly.
Gwen could see the disappointment in his eyes. She smiled. "At least you're up. Now all you need to do is get well soon."
Curtis nodded listlessly. He was extremely tired. He felt sleep overwhelm him once more.
"If you feel tired, sleep some more," Gwen suggested gently.
"No." Curtis looked at Gwen. He seemed to have more things to say to her.
The room was quiet. They were the only ones there. Gwen felt a little uneasy under his gaze. She turned around and changed the subject. "I'll go make some coffee."
Curtis hummed in response. His gaze lingered longingly on Gwen.
