The next day, when Jacqueline woke up, she found Fred sleeping next to her.

She was stunned at first. Though she was still young, she was already aware of their gender differences. They used to sleep together all the time, but it had been three or four years since then.

"Um..." she scratched her head, unsure of what to do, her cheeks slightly flushed.

Fred, already awake, noticed her awkwardness and greeted her, "Good morning."

"Good morning!" she quickly replied, her face growing even redder. "I... I'm sorry for falling asleep hugging you last night."

Fred looked puzzled. "Why are you apologizing? We used to do this all the time."

"But... we've grown up now. You're a boy, and I'm a girl. We shouldn't sleep together anymore," Jacqueline said.

Fred paused for a moment. "Do you hate sleeping with me?" he asked.
