Once he ended the call with the head of the detective agency, Trenton walked toward his own and drove off.

Camryn had returned to Wildridge Manor. Trenton followed after her.

He had just parked in the manor parking lot when he heard the familiar sound of his nephew’s voice.

“Uncle Trent! Uncle Trent!”

Hearing his nephew’s clear, cheerful cry instantly lifted Trenton’s spirits.

He got out of the car and had barely closed the door when Merry rushed over, wrapping his arms around one of Trenton’s legs.

“Uncle Trent, you’re finally here! I missed you so much. Did you miss me?” Merry tilted his little face up as he asked Trenton.

Trenton bent down to pick up Merry, smiling. “How could I not? I missed you so much. That’s why I came to see you today the moment I had some free time.”

“Really? Then can you play with me today?”

“Of course. Come on, let’s go inside first. Are your parents back already?”

“Yup, they’re inside.”

Trenton carried his little nephew toward the main building.
