I was sitting at the bar near the beach, my laptop open in front of me. The waves were calm and the air smelled of salt, but my head was a storm. The last thing I wanted was to be on this stupid honeymoon.
I took a sip from my glass and stared at the screen. The proposal document was open, but my mind was elsewhere. The numbers and words were jumbled together. This marriage, this whole charade, was suffocating me.
