The next day we woke up early. The smell of coffee my mother was making in the kitchen filled every room in the house. Pedrinho was euphoric and my father picked him up and took him to the little corral to milk the cow. When they returned, my son had a little milk mustache and a little blue enamel mug in his hand.
We sat down and drank coffee listening to the birds sing. The house was very comfortable and large. It had huge windows and the fresh morning air came in through them along with the sunlight.
We went out for a walk and the property was a great size. It was big enough for a varied orchard, a vegetable garden with all kinds of vegetables, a corral with a cow, a pigsty with two pigs and a chicken coop with many chickens. Pedrinho had fun collecting eggs with my mother.
