“A taxi?!” John looked stunned. “And why wasn’t I told?”

“Mrs. Walker sometimes goes to the early morning vigils at the church. The security guards didn’t find the time strange, just the fact that she took a taxi. They said she was calm and didn’t want any security guards to accompany her.”

“You should have been with her!” John accused, feeling anger rise through his body like an uncontrolled fire. “That’s what you were hired to do.”

James sensed that something had happened.
