Five Years Later

Cameron glanced at the clock and hurried to the door, only to feel a cushion hitting the back of his neck.

"Where’s my kiss?" a sweet, tender voice called out. He turned around, laughing, and scooped up his niece in his arms.

"I’ll give you two kisses! Two kisses, princess! Uncle’s bringing you a gift today," he told her, hugging her tightly. The three-year-old covered his face with kisses.

"A pony?"

"Uh… a fluffy pony! Uncle’s bringing you a fluffy pony," he assured her as he set her down. The little girl ran to her father, overflowing with joy.

Janick sat her on his lap for just a second before giving her a kiss as well and sending her to her mother.

"Hey, hey, if you’re gonna steal my coffee, at least say hi to me first," Janick protested. His brother walked over to give him a hug.

"Sorry, I thought you were still asleep," Cameron said. "I heard you typing away till dawn last night."

"That’s the downside of living wit
