The silence between them was a ticking bomb.
"You had no right," Kate hissed, fury simmering just beneath her skin. "You had no right to undress me, or stay in this house."
Grayson didn't blink. He just walked toward her. Kate swallowed but didn't back down. Still, her eyes that were traitorous as ever, lowered for a split second.
Broad chest, wide shoulders, defined abs. Every muscle was pulled taut beneath tanned skin. He looked like a damn sin sculpted in flesh. And those gray sweatpants, riding low on his hips, barely doing their job… did not help.
"This is my house," he said, voice cold as steel.
Kate let out a dry laugh.
"You gave it to me. Remember?"
"I still pay for it," he fired back, shrugging like it meant nothing. "Every bill. Every expense. Every breath you take in this place… is still on me."
She rolled her eyes, ready to hurl something sharp and venom-laced, but Grayson's tone suddenly shifted. Lower. Hotter.
"Just like last night. You drank yourself un
