From the look on Emma's face, I could tell there was no real happiness behind her smile. Even the air between us felt tense.

I knew I had ruined things, but I had no choice but to defend myself. And I was about to make everything worse.

"You don't look very happy, Emma."

"Well… Amme and I are very close, and I have my own opinion about the Kellers. Forgive me if it's not the same as yours, but even though you have a lot to offer my sister, the downside is also big for her."
