Two days had passed, yet they hadn't heard any news about Jane.
Claude was as anxious as a cat on a hot tin roof. After chastising his men, he paced about in the living area.
Leonard was irritated by his pacing. "Can you just sit for a while?"
"How could I?" Claude was anxious. He glared at Leonard with bloodshot eyes.
"Jane isn't your granddaughter, so of course, you're not worried! If anything were to happen to Jane, how am I to answer to her dead parents?"
"Jane grew up with me too. How could I not be worried?" Leonard replied curtly.
"But what's the point of being anxious? Will Jane return safely just because of that? It would be better to calm down, analyze the situation, and figure out who would kidnap her."
Claude retorted, "I don't care who the hell kidnapped her! No matter who dared to take her away, I'll make sure they pay with their lives!"
Coincidentally, Mark had just come downstairs and overheard what Claude said. He stopped a little in his tracks and smirked.
