26 - I LOST MYSELF

Outside the bathroom, Thor remained seated in the armchair, trying to focus on his notebook. But he couldn't.

Celina's words echoed in his mind. The firmness with which she had confronted him. The hurt look in her eyes. And now, the silence... a heavy silence, filled only by the faint muffled sound of crying escaping through the cracks in the door.

He clenched his fists on the arms of the chair, fighting with himself. He didn't want to feel. He didn't want to care. But something inside him gnawed at him, like a cold blade scratching his conscience.

Thor got up and walked to the bathroom door. He leaned against the wood, closing his eyes, taking a deep breath. He could hear Celina's muffled sobs.

For a moment, his hand rose, as if to knock on the door... but he pulled back.

"Don't get involved. Not again," he whispered to himself, slowly returning to the armchair.
