“This is fine. Stop here.”
I tapped the dashboard, signaling Paula to pull over right at the entrance of the elite residential district. She gave me a cynical smile as she stopped the car.
“Why? Afraid someone will catch you coming with me? Even your grandmother and your precious wife won’t know who’s sitting in this car. Do you think they’d start pounding on the windows to check who’s inside?”
I didn’t bother arguing. I got out immediately and started walking toward where Mathilda and my grandmother were.
