“Heaf, Heaf.” Lil’ Pie called out for Heath as she ran, but Lil’ Bun was too far off to hear his sister’s cries.

Lil’ Pie was simply beside herself and she felt like her brother had just been too rude this time. He had not even waited for her before he ran off.

Zachary and Serenity followed after them.

From time to time, Zachary would call out, “Don’t run so fast, Lil’ Pie. Be careful, or you’ll fall.”

The toddler ran and stopped. When she stopped, she turned to her parents while pointing in the direction Heath ran in and repeated, “Heaf, Heaf.”

Meaning, Heath had abandoned her and had not waited for her.

Zachary walked up to her, laughing. “Heath ran real quick and didn’t wait for Lil’ Pie, now, didn’t he? Want me to take you to look for him?”

Lil’ Pie nodded with a hum.

Zachary bent down to pick up his daughter and waited for Serenity to catch up before heading toward the lotus pond together.

“Lil’ Bun ran so fast, he didn’t even think to wait for Lil’ Pie,” Zachary grumbled
