Heath protested, disliking it whenever an adult said he was plump. Mom had told him it was just baby fat and that it would go away when he grew older. He was not a little piggy.
Jasmine laughed. “Alright, alright. You aren’t a little piggy. You’re not plump, you’re cute.”
Elisa chimed in, laughing as well. “He’s never been plump. Our Lil’ Bun is the cutest. Where are your parents and Lil’ Pie, Lil’ Bun?”
“They’re right behind me. I missed Great-Nana, so I went ahead to look for her first,” Heath replied to Elisa’s question. Then, he politely greeted the rest of the elders there.
“Aunt Jazz, where’s Xavier and Yancy?” Heath asked about his friends.
Yancy was Julian’s son. Just like the Yorks, the Buchams were also so close-knit that cousins were like siblings, and they were all considered one big family. Yancy was almost two years younger than Xavier.
“Aunt Camryn, where are Merry and the rest?” Heath also asked Camryn.
