“Kade was in a bad mood and wanted to drink, so I had a couple with him to help him vent. Did he get drunk?”

“Way worse than you. Dylan, you can head in by yourself. I’m heading back.”

Seeing that he seemed much more alert now and could walk steadily, Imogen turned to leave.

“Imogen!” Dylan grabbed her hand. “If you’re going to be a good Samaritan, go all the way! You’ve already brought me to my doorstep. Why not take me inside?

“You rarely come to my place. At least stay for a glass of water.”
