Sometimes, Duncan was worried that he would turn resentful from missing Liberty. During those times, he would tell himself she was having it worse. She had to leave her young son with Serenity and did not even have much time to call him.

“Half an hour’s rest is enough for me. I was guessing you’re already awake and wanted to call you before you started working again.”

“Mmhmm, I’ll work after having my coffee. What’s wrong?”

Liberty added, “Miss me?”
