Chapter 67

The next day, Lindsey woke up sluggishly next to her husband, who had been attentive to her sleep.

"Thank you, my love, for listening to me, comforting me, and being there for me," she said with heavy eyes. She had cried so much that the tears formed a kind of crust.

"I'm your man, don't forget," he said, giving her a tender kiss. He got up and pulled her along with him to the bathroom. While they showered, he soaped her back and whispered in her ear.

"Lin! Let me make love to you? Please?" He nibbled on her earlobe.

Lindsey felt a shiver run down her body, but her mind reacted.

"Love, it's late. I have to accompany Courney to the clinic. I hope she's given up on that damn decision she made. Then I have to dig up evidence at the company to put John Girt behind bars for all the harm he caused my mother in nine years."

Kyle embraced her from behind and rested his head on her neck.

"If you need my help, you know I'm here for you."
