Grayson stopped outside St. Thomas Hospital and stared at the building like it was a fortress he needed to break into. His chest tightened with anxiety, with fury, with something darker he couldn't quite name. He was determined to find her. To tell her this wasn't over. And that idiot she was taking care of could start looking for another nurse, because Grayson sure as hell wasn't backing down.

He stepped out of the car with brisk purpose, adjusting the cuffs of his shirt, making sure every inch of him projected control. Inside, he was seconds away from losing it.

He walked into the hospital, his gaze sweeping everywhere at once. People were rushing by, nurses were juggling charts, and doctors were moving in and out of rooms.

It was a complete damn circus.
