Elliot slept soundly though he sweated. His temperature was normal, and as Avery was exhausted, she lay down beside him and fell into a deep slumber.

Avery woke up at three o'clock in the afternoon, and she felt a pang of hunger. She got out of bed, changed her clothes, and came out of the room, just to find the bodyguard and the driver sitting on the sofa in the living room, watching TV.
