Shelly felt shamed by his words. "This residential area may look run-down, but it's actually quite safe. Many elderly people live here," she explained.

"Then go ahead by yourself!" Hayden no longer insisted.

Shelly sensed that he might be a little upset, so she said, "Why don't you come in with me? At this time, our community is especially quiet, and most of the elderly residents are already asleep."
