"Why didn't you knock before entering?" Avery grumbled.

"I did!" Mike scratched his head. "I knocked, but you didn't hear me. What happened? Did you have a fight with Elliot? That shouldn't have happened! Haven't you two been quite close recently?"

"It has nothing to do with him." Avery took some tissues and wiped away her tears. "I was watching the news just now. A middle-aged man disguised himself as a cobbler on the streets just to pay for his daughter's education. Every time I see this type of news, I will think of my mother. I feel for the people at the bottom of the social ladder."
