Penny countered, "Why wouldn't I be here, Dad? You spent money and suffered through treatments, and Felix promised you'd be cured after just one week of medicine. But now you're having attacks all over again!

"This is nothing compared to what Dr. Adkin could do. This man is nothing but a con artist."

Tasha's expression darkened. Though Penny's words targeted Felix, as his guarantor, she was essentially being humiliated too. She was someone of standing in Utren, but a young lady now talked down to her while she was unable to defend herself. That was beyond embarrassing.

Yet even now, she couldn't believe Felix would try to deceive anyone. Though they had not known each other for long, she knew he wasn't that kind of person.

"That's enough," Brian said. "Even the best doctors make mistakes sometimes. Let's go home."
