Marius scolded her again. I was getting a little tired of her tantrums.
“What do you want me to say?! That I thank the Goddess for giving those dogs the power to destroy us, to keep us as slaves, to banish us to these sewers?!”
She screamed, jumping up from the stool, which clattered loudly.
No matter how hard Marius tried to calm her down, she ran off crying.
An uncomfortable silence filled the room.
“I’m sorry about that… she’s just more honest and says what we’re all thinking,” he told me, embarrassed.
“What’s going on here between you and the werewolves?”
“You seriously don’t know anything?” that Edgar guy asked, and I shook my head.
“Well, I come from somewhere else,” I said briefly.
That’s how I learned about the situation in this realm, divided between two main powers: the werewolves and the vampires.
“And why do they treat you like this? Just because they can?”
