"I'm not going back," Gwen refused coldly.

"As long as Mark is still alive, I won't be able to live a normal life."

"I'm already finding ways to deal with—"

"That is your own business," Gwen interrupted Yvonne.

"As for the grudge I have with Mark, I'll deal with it on my own."

"But …" Yvonne was just about to say something when she saw Curtis standing behind Gwen, waving his hands at her and asking her to stop.

Yvonne frowned and swallowed her words back down. She corrected herself. "You can continue, but you have to let Curtis follow you. I can't accept not hearing from you at all."

Yvonne added immediately to shut Gwen up, "This isn't up for discussion."

Curtis found the time to chime in. "Yvonne, don't worry. I'll look after Gwen. I won't let anything happen to her. If there is any danger, I'll be the first one to rush ahead."

Yvonne said, "You stay safe too. You two need to keep watch over each other. You two must return to me safely."

Curtis smiled innocently. "Okay!"
