“Let me remind you of something, Adler... I am your wife.”
Roman let out a low, dark laugh, completely devoid of humor.
“You were my wife. Until you stole from me and ran away like the coward you always were.”
Miranda lifted her chin haughtily, but he saw the slight tremor in her lips, the way her hands clenched on the table.
“You can't erase it, Devil. You can't change the facts. No matter how many papers you signed with that woman, the first marriage always counts.”
Roman clenched his jaw.
“That marriage died the day you abandoned Sasha.”
Miranda clicked her tongue and looked at him with feigned pity.
“Are you sure? Because, legally, you're still my husband.”
Roman narrowed his eyes and his expression became even more dangerous.
“If you think that gives you any rights over me or my daughter, you're more screwed up than I remembered.”
