Chapter 26 —And the slap echoed

Roman's gaze was a dark pit that trapped her hopelessly.
The heat of his body enveloped her, every breath between them was an electric current.
Aylin tried to pull away, but Roman didn't move an inch.
“Don't look at me like that, Aylin,” his voice sounded like a dangerous whisper, barely a brush of breath against her skin. “Or I swear I'll kiss you right here...”
She swallowed, her pulse pounding in her chest.
“I'm not interested in what you do with your mouth, Mr. Adler.”
Roman smiled. A slow, dark smile.
“Even if I want to put it on you?”
Aylin pressed her lips together tightly, but he already had her trapped. He didn't touch her right away, he didn't kiss her like a desperate man, no; he took his time.
Because Roman Adler never took anything without making sure the other person knew exactly what was about to happen.
