Chapter 11 —The Dangerous Door
Narrator:
As the car crossed the gates of the mansion and began to drive down the long driveway, Sasha leaned against the window, completely silent.
She hadn't said a word since they left the cemetery, as if returning meant raising those barriers again that, for a brief moment, had fallen.
But before the car stopped in front of the front door, Sasha turned to Aylin.
She looked at her seriously, her eyes still red, but this time with a trace of nervousness that Aylin had never seen before.
“Don't tell my dad...” she asked quietly. “Please.”
Aylin frowned slightly.
“That we went to the cemetery?”
Sasha nodded.
“Yes. He's not going to like it. Not one bit.”
Aylin hesitated for a second, but ended up nodding.
“Okay. I won't say anything.”
Sasha breathed a sigh of relief and nodded too, as if she felt safe for the first time in a long time.
“Thanks... again.”
