"Can you at least tell me what we’re doing here?" I ask as we walk along a deserted beach in the middle of the night.

The sky stretches above us like a dark canvas splattered with indifferent twinkling stars. The waves break gently against the wet sand, leaving behind a trail of white foam glowing under the starlight. My steps are slow, uncertain, as I follow him in silence, still waiting for an answer.
