Thor set the tray down on the side table and sat on the edge of the bed, taking her hand in his.
“I tried to sleep, but… you were right there, sleeping, and I couldn’t stop thinking about everything we talked about. About what’s ahead,” he said, gently squeezing her fingers. “And I just wanted to savor every second by your side. No distractions.”
Celina bit her lower lip, her heart racing at his words.
“Thor…” she began, her voice catching, “last night meant so much to me. You listening to me, holding space for me, letting me be vulnerable… it really meant a lot.”
He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it tenderly.
“I just wish I could erase all your fears with a promise. But I know words aren’t enough. I’m going to show you, day after day, that I’m here. And I’m not going anywhere,” he said firmly.
She leaned forward, pressing her forehead to his, eyes closed.
“I’m scared, Thor… but I want to try.”
He smiled and whispered:
“So do I. And I’ll be with you, even when you’re afraid.”
