Isabela remained silent, staring at the floor.
“You need to get yourself under control,” Angélica continued, her voice softer now. “Your behavior is putting everything at risk. Thor is sick, weakened, and you’ve turned this house into a battlefield. You didn’t think about him. Or the baby. Or even yourself. That isn’t love, Isabela—it’s a lack of control.”
“I just want to protect my relationship!” she shot back, her voice trembling.
“Then listen to me with an open heart,” Angélica said, stepping closer. “Get help. Start therapy. It will help you understand what you’re feeling, help you take better care of yourself, of the baby. And it will help you with Thor. All this jealousy… it will only push him away. Think carefully about what I’m saying. You know I like you, I’ve always treated you like a daughter.”
Isabela forced a smile, rehearsed and false.
