They kept packing in silence. But it wasn’t an awkward silence—rather, the quiet understanding of two friends who could read each other with a single glance. Within minutes, everything was ready.
Tatiana walked into the living room and called out to Roberto and Gabriel.
“Hey, can you guys give us a hand with the bags?”
Both men stood up immediately and started hauling everything down to Gabriel’s car, parked just outside the house. Before long, the trunk was packed tight.
Inside, Celina paused for a moment in the living room, letting her gaze linger. It felt like she was saying goodbye to a chapter of her life. She turned to Tatiana and Roberto, her eyes misty.
“Thank you… for everything. For opening not just your home, but your hearts to me. I’ll never forget it.”
Tatiana hugged her tightly.
“Take care of yourself, okay? And of our godchildren too…” she said, laying a tender hand on Celina’s belly. “We’ll always be with you.”
“Always,” Roberto added, kissing her forehead.
