POV of Fredric
Once again, my carelessness led me to confront Paula. In truth, my visit to the place where Grandma was giving us this house did not necessarily mean I would run into Paula, but it was inevitable that it would happen sooner or later.
For the past three months, perhaps hundreds of threatening messages had haunted me, including how Paula constantly sent all sorts of things to spy on me.
I had once told Paula about the development plans Grandma was working on, which was why she had one of her relatives stationed there. In fact, I had become a part of the crazy game of a deranged woman, and I realized it far too late.
And actually, this was also one of the consequences I created by agreeing to Paula’s wishes and letting her keep chasing after me. That foolish agreement happened when I saw her again the night I visited her with Mathilda in the hospital.
Paula had two trump cards: our adult video recordings and evidence that she had used and bought cocaine from a drug dealer.
