I shoved past Paula’s body, stepping into her apartment with a sour expression, deliberately dodging the kiss she was about to give me.
Was I out of my mind?
No. I was just venting the anger and disappointment boiling inside me — anger at Paula for being so reckless, too bold with her little schemes.
