Clara snapped back to her senses. She took a deep breath to compose herself. "I came here to discuss... our divorce," she stated.

"If you're not satisfied with the terms I proposed, I already informed my lawyer that I'm open to considering any reasonable requests within my means," Wilson responded calmly. "If you came only to talk about the divorce, you can just discuss it with my lawyer. It won't make a difference."

With that, he turned away, intending to leave.

"No, it's not the same!" Clara lunged forward, grabbing Wilson's hand. "I don't want a divorce. I don't want to sign the divorce papers."

Wilson's body stiffened, and he turned his head to look at Clara with a hint of surprise in his eyes. "You don't want a divorce?"

"That’s right," she said firmly.

His gaze grew deep, and after a moment, he smirked mockingly. "So you want to be Mrs. Birch for a little longer? What's the reason this time? Last time, it was to prevent Amy from being born as an illegitimate child. This tim
