A moment later, Terry heard a soft whisper in his ear.

"Terry, why don't I stay here until your birthday is over? My face should be less swollen by then, and we can have a cake together after you return from your birthday party."

Terry did not answer, but Lisa was happy with it. He did not outright reject her, which meant he was okay with it.
