Kent despised Mary’s family, yet he had forgotten that his family was in the same situation.
As Mary had mentioned, they were more suited for each other.
“This is annoying.”
Kent let out a self-deprecating laugh. He grabbed the bottle and filled his glass with more alcohol. He asked Mary, “Do you want some? I can continue drinking. Why don’t we drink together till we’re drunk?
“I can give you a day off tomorrow if you don’t think you can work.”
Mary said, “You’re already drunk, Dr. Levitt.
“I can’t drink alcohol. We won’t be able to go home if I do. I need to drive.”
After Kent emptied one glass, Mary snatched his glass and said, “Stop drinking. Let’s go.”
She stood and pulled Kent to help him get up.
Although Kent put up slight resistance, he still let Mary lead him outside.
Before they reached the door, Kent suddenly felt his stomach churn. He got nauseous and wanted to puke.
Unable to hold it in, he immediately covered his mouth and ran toward the bathroom.
