Alex had bought two movie tickets, which coincidentally were for a movie that Sheila had wanted to see but had so far not found the time for.
Alex said the tickets were given to him by his Aunt Rosella and claimed that she and his Uncle Martin had originally planned to watch it, but could not make it at the last minute, so they passed the tickets to him and told him to invite Sheila along.
Surprisingly, Sheila did not suspect this story.
That was because Rosella had cooperated with Alex in lying, telling Sheila that she had indeed bought the tickets.
“Your eldest cousin’s wife? You mean, Serenity Hunt?”
“Uh-huh.”
“I’ve heard that even after becoming the young missus, she still maintains her habits and is very down-to-earth. She’s even influenced your eldest cousin to be more grounded, too.”
“Yeah, I mean, she lived that way for over twenty years before marrying Zachary. There’s no way a few years would be enough to erase habits formed after that long.
“I think it’s quite nice.
