Thomas smiled. “I’ve only won twice after playing with you the entire evening. You’re still very skilled.”
The father and son put away the chessboard and invited River to take a seat. Before River sat, he went to the kitchen to greet Daisy and ask if she needed his help.
“It’s okay. I’m already done. Tell them that we can have dinner now, River. Go wash your hands and try the food I’ve made.”
Although River did not have a chance to help Daisy, at least he offered his assistance. Daisy had become more satisfied with her future son-in-law.
During her and Thomas’s stay at Wildridge Manor, they had lived with River’s parents and had gotten along well with them.
They also heard a lot of things about River. Martin and Rosella were experts at “promoting” their son. They told Thomas and Daisy everything about River.
By letting their future in-laws get to know River better, they would feel more at ease about handing their daughter to him. River could definitely make Rosalie happy.
