Kevin saw Zachary and Serenity out of the hospital room.
“Kevin, no need to see us out. I’ll go with Zachary,” Serenity said, indicating he could stay back.
Kevin stopped at the doorway, watching them walk away before turning to go back inside. Just then, his phone rang. Seeing it was his wife calling, he paused and walked to the end of the corridor for some quiet before answering.
“Kevin, did you go out? The boys are asking where Dad is. They’re looking for you,” Hayden asked.
“Yeah, I had to step out for something urgent. With so many playmates around, they still noticed I was gone?”
Hayden replied, “They just remembered you and asked a couple of questions. Now they’re out running wild again and I finally got some peace. When are we going back to Jensburg? We can let the boys stay here with Nana.”
She was eager to return to work.
