After hanging up, Serenity walked back and said to Rosella and the others, “Aunt Rosella, Zachary asked me to go out for something. Please keep Mrs. Lafayette company and show her around. I’ve got to go handle this.”

“Sure, go ahead,” Rosella replied.

Serenity then said to her sister, “If Lil’ Pie looks for me, please help comfort her.”

Liberty asked with concern, “What’s the matter that you have to go so urgently?”

“It’s nothing big. I’ll be back once it’s dealt with. Lil’ Pie has Jiggy to play with, so she probably won’t cry or fuss.”

With so many older kids around to play with the little one, she should be fine.

Liberty assured her sister she would take good care of her niece, so Serenity could leave with peace of mind.
