Serenity was speechless for a moment before she remarked, “Xavier is only six years old and he’s just a kid who loves to play. Josh shouldn’t be in such a hurry to whip him into shape.”
“He started driving everyone crazy as soon as summer break started. That’s why he got sent off for training.”
Serenity chuckled but did not say more. Anyone who had raised kids knew how exhausting it could be.
“I’ll get back to work, honey. Let’s have a video call tonight after I get home.”
“Sure. Call me when you’re back. If it’s early enough, you can chat with the kids. If it’s too late, it’ll just be me keeping you company.”
Zachary grinned. “I’d much rather chat with you.”
He waited until Serenity blew him a kiss over the phone before finally hanging up, thoroughly mollified.
