“Duncan,” said Mrs. Lewis.
She asked Liberty to come and take care of her son. Mrs. Lewis felt bad now that Liberty was left standing outside.
Duncan closed his eyes, refusing to talk.
There was nothing Mrs. Lewis could do about it.
The cold sweat dripping from her son’s forehead gave Mrs. Lewis great distress. She grabbed a tissue and dabbed the sweat off her son.
“I know that you still have feelings for Liberty, Duncan. Why do this to yourself?”
Duncan kept his eyes closed and his
