I've been in this file room for a week now, and I'm already feeling archived, dusty, and obsolete. The worst part is, it seems like this will take longer than I thought. But what can I do, work is work.
I was sighing with boredom when my cell phone rang on the table, and I smiled, seeing the name flash on the screen.
"Beautiful daddy! I miss you so much!" I said as I answered.
"Do you miss me? You don't even call me! Last week I didn't even get a short message from my little girl! It hurts me, Mel." My dad was acting out, as usual.
"Oh, Dad, I'm just so busy at work."
"Is Martinez exploiting you?" My dad said mockingly. "Or is he the one bossing you around?"
"No, Dad, I still boss him around!" I smiled. "But he decided to dig up a dinosaur." "What do you mean?"
"Oh, a caveman-era company that's going to be a client again, but all the information is on paper and I'm entering everything into the system. Since there's confidential information, I have to do it myself."
