After a refreshing shower, I was already feeling much better and more energetic. When I sat down at the table for breakfast, I felt my stomach growling with hunger. We ate breakfast laughing and talking about everyday things, with Enzo feeding Canela, hidden under the table, small pieces of everything, as if we weren't seeing.
I had been through something horrible the night before, but being there surrounded by those three, showering me with attention and affection, and striving to make me laugh, was a balm for my near tragedy. It was so good to have them around and it greatly improved my mood.
