I sigh, my shoulders sagging.

“ Take them out. ” I whisper. “ Zio. ”

“ Natalie! ” Anne hisses as a warning.

“ I am sure Alpha Ryker…” My eyes trail off to Ryker’s cruel face as I utter. “ has thought of giving them a place to stay. Take both my friends there. ”

“ You don’t understand. ” Anne huffs, folding her arms over her chest.

“ I understand. ” I glance her way. “ But, it’s between me and my mate now. ”

I am saving you from his wrath, idiot! I don’t think she can see the deranged look in Ryker’s eyes right now. It’s almost as if he is on the verge of losing control and snapping Anne’s neck.

I don’t want that. And if things escalate…I am not sure anymore if Ryker will listen to me and spare her life.

“ Come on, ladies. Let’s leave them alone. ” Zio gets up, chiming as if a bomb hasn’t been dropped in the living room a few moments ago.

With my blazing eyes, I try to convey the silent message to Giana who is staring at me, her mouth agape.
