Someone asked how to pronounce Lilith's name. The author’s notes space doesn’t allow for anything but straight text, so I’ll try to explain the pronunciation of LihlLeecthuh as best I can. Remember her name was old, and Thea said it seemed like two people needed to say it at the same time because multiple sounds happen at the same time. But, if you want to try, everything is spoken from the back of the mouth/throat, very guttural. Li (as in little), then the H and L are sounded at the same time, then Lee (as in leave), hard K sound immediately followed by “th”, then “oo” (as in boot/shoot), then add the H to the oo (as in “who”). So something like: “Li-hl-Lee-K-thoo-who” But, since humans had a hard time with that, it got simplified to: Li-Lee-Kthoo, and eventually to Lilith.
